THE STORY SO FAR...

Marcel is a 1961 Peugeot D4B ‘nez de conchon’ (pig nose) van and – as far as we know – is the only converted bar of its kind in the UK.

…But Marcel’s life didn’t quite start out that way.
MARCEL, THE CARPENTER'S APPRENTICE
We had to name Marcel after his very first owner, Marcel Brugier, who lived in a village called Luchapt, Western France.
Monsieur Brugier bought the van on 17th August 1961 and, as the village’s resident carpenter, the van spent many years earning its keep as the tradesman’s four-wheeled assistant.
THE BARN YEARS
Fast forward to 1993, the van had been retired from action – and was stored and locked away in a barn.
There the van gathered dust for 17 years. But after Monsieur Brugier sadly passed away, it was sold to a new owner and found its way into the hands of a classic car enthusiast from the UK.
A UK RESTORATION
Marcel arrived here in late 2010 and received some much-needed TLC to his engine and bodywork, before being registered as a UK citizen in 2012.
Three years later, Matt and Kelly (us!) spotted the van for sale and set about bringing Marcel out of retirement by turning him into a French-inspired mobile bar.

MARCEL TODAY
Marcel’s Mobile Bar has been serving wine, champagne, prosecco, craft beers, gins and more since 2017.
